Mary Elizabeth Whittle Jobron, 88, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2021 with her children by her side.  Born in Memphis, TN, Mary was a resident of Chattanooga most of her life and a member of St. John United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the church office.  A graduate of Chattanooga City High School, class of 1951, Mary worked as an Office Manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and retired after 27 years of service.  Later, she worked part-time for Proffitts at Hamilton Place before retiring for good.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Elbert Whittle, Sr. and Mollie Light Whittle; her loving husband of 59 years, John Jobron, Jr.; brothers, William Elbert Whittle, Jr., Clifford H. Whittle, and sister, Betty Ann Wilhoite.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Betsy (John) Corum of Harrison, TN, Suzanne (Darron) Hunt of Dallas, GA, and son, David (Cathy) Jobron of Harrison, TN; six grandchildren, Brielle (Brandon) Farrow and B.J. (Courtney) Kennedy, both of Ooltewah, TN, Kaylee (John) Patrick of Athens, GA, Nicole Williams of Atlanta, GA, Jonathon Jobron and Jessica Jobron of Harrison, TN; one great-granddaughter, Isabel Kennedy of Ooltewah, TN; several close nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jonathon Jobron, Joel Kennedy, John Patrick, Larry Pennington, Scott Wilhoite, and Mike Williams.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58 Chapel.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Carl Blackburn officiating.

Mary will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with her husband, John Jobron, Jr.
