Mary Frances Garner Prophater, 98, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022.  Mary Frances was born on June 23, 1923.  She was a native of St. Joseph, TN, but lived the majority of her life in East Ridge and Chattanooga.  Mary Frances was a charter member of the Greenslake Rd Church of Christ, and enjoyed a 25-year career with Chattanooga Royal, later known as DeSoto Chemical Coatings Incorporated, Royal Division.

Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband, H.H. Prophater; parents, H.E. and Bea Garner; brothers, Loyce Arlen and Neal (Louise) Garner and sister, Edna Mae (Charles) Scarbrough.

She survived by her sons, Gene (Betty) Prophater and David (Renee) Prophater; daughter, Mary Edna (David) East and brother, Jimmy (Johnnye) Garner.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Green's Lake Rd Church of Christ, 1209 Green's lake Rd, East Ridge, TN 37412 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Larry Clark and Jim Lewis officiating.

Mary Frances will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
