Michael P. Smith, Jr

Michael Paul Smith, Jr. 56, a native of Bronx, New York but having lived in the Harrison area for over a decade passed after a lengthy illness resulting from his service to others during the 9/11/01 event.

Michael was a N.Y. City firefighter for many years. Prior to firefighting he was a Union Carpenter and owned his own business, Ceilings Unlimited. He also worked in fire control at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant for over six years. He was of Catholic Denomination.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael P. Smith, Sr. and he is survived by his wife, Faith Smith, of Harrison; mother, Julia Pulido, of Middletown, NY; children, Michael Paul Smith III, Dillon Andrew Smith, of Harrison, and Natalia Jo Phillips and her husband Joshua, of Dingmans Ferry, PA. and one granddaughter, Natasha Faith Phillips, also of, Dingmans Ferry, PA.; brother, Brian Thomas Smith and his family of, Slate Hill, N.Y. and; sister, Linda Smith and her family of, New Hampton, N.Y. and brother, Frank Patrick Smith and his family of, Sparta, N.J., sisters Renee, Carol and Maria Sonnick and their families of, Brooklyn, N.Y. Michael had many nieces and nephews.

Michael loved his family, his country and his friends. He will forever be a part of the FDNY brotherhood.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan. 2nd from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Hwy 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. There will be no service but memories will be shared by all. You may visit the online guestbook @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com
