Myrna J.
Cowan
Nov 6, 1940 — Mar 26, 2020
Myrna J. Cowan, 79, passed away on March 26, 2020. She was a life-long resident of Chattanooga, and a member of Community Baptist Church in Hixson. Myrna was a graduate of UTC, where because of her talent playing the piano, she was accepted in their Cadek music program. In her earlier years, Myrna worked for a local TV station, eventually retiring from TVA after over 20 years. She also spent several years volunteering for Memorial Hospital. If anything could be said about Myrna, it was that she was extremely resilient, always keeping in good spirits despite hardships in life. She was known for her dry wit, always knowing how to handle someone's sarcasm and sense of humor. She will forever be known for her graciousness towards others and is dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Blutcher and Della White-Cheetum and husband, Herb Cowan.
Myrna is survived by her special out of town cousin, Eddie Bradford; long-life friend, Joyce Rector Tawzer; special friends, Mary Carol Campbell and Imogene Stone; faithful caregiver, Connie Ketchersid and last but not least her furry friend, Krissy. The family would also like to thank Amedisys Home Healthcare, especially Cynthia Johnson, Misty Rice, and Jennifer Floyd.
Share your memories and express your condolences on our guestbook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Amedisys Home Healthcare, 7205 Lee Hwy, Ste A, Chattanooga, TN 37421
