Nellie Ruth Thompson
Nellie Thompson, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018. She was a founding member of Bayside Baptist Church and was their Sunday school teacher and organist for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Thompson; son, Kenneth "Terry" Thompson; mother and father; brothers and one sister.
She is survived by son, Frank (Darlene) Thompson Jr.; daughter, Gail (Sid) Ballinger; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank special caregiver Angie Guffey as well as Hospice of Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Hospice of Chattanooga or Bayside Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home on Hwy 58. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Grady Cooper officiating. Mrs. Thompson will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Turner Funeral Home 3913 Webb Road @ Highway 58, Chattanooga, TN.
