Ozadell Godwin, 88, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Ozadell was born and raised in Hollywood, Alabama. In 1966, she made Chattanooga her home, where she and her family built a life filled with love and lasting memories.

Music was one of Ozadell's greatest joys. For many years, she faithfully sang with her family's gospel group, Gospel in Song, sharing God's love through music and touching the hearts of many who heard them. Her strong Christian faith guided every aspect of her life. In her later years, she attended Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she found encouragement, fellowship, and opportunities to continue serving the Lord.

Above all else, Ozadell treasured her family. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, whose lives brought her so much joy and laughter. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved puppy, Bagheera, whose companionship brightened her days.

Ozadell will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her. Her life was a beautiful testimony to God's grace, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church family, and all whose lives she touched. While her presence will be greatly missed, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

Ozadell was preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy Godwin and Bill Dixon; sons, Mike Godwin, A.C. Godwin and Roger Godwin; granddaughter, Courtney Godwin; sons-in-law, Butch McGill and Mike Willie; daughter-in-law, Angela Godwin, as well as her parents and several siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam McGill, Andrea Willie and Alanna Bettis (Jason); daughters-in-law, Debbie Godwin and Meredith Phillips; step-daughters, Pat Gass (Dewey) and Dorothy Hunt, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastors Bobby Lewis and Todd McElyea officiating.

Ozadell will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
