Paul "Big
Boy" Eugene Granger

Paul Eugene "Big Boy" Granger, of Harrison, passed from this earth to his Heavenly home on Thursday, June 2, 2022. He was 86 years old and was born in Chattanooga on April 5, 1936.
Paul was a retired Boilermaker from Local 454, as was his father and three of his brothers. He was a lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as youth leader, music director, deacon, custodian, handyman, and filled other numerous roles over the years. He had a beautiful singing voice and was especially known for singing the song, "When They Ring the Golden Bells".
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margaret Granger; brothers, Phil Granger (Paul's twin brother), Charles Granger, Tom Behre and Bruce Behre.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Ann Granger; children, Steven, Sandy and Spencer Granger; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Rick Granger, and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 10 a.m. – noon at New Bethel Baptist Church, 8740 Harrison Bay Rd, Harrison, TN. A funeral service will follow at noon with Pastors Jack Rinks and Les Isbell officiating.
Paul will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery @ 2 p.m. with Pastor Ernie Burfitt officiating.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Dustin, Ian, and Adam Granger, and nephews, Hunter West, Charles Neely and Shane Forgey.
