Phyllis Lankford
Phyllis Ann Lankford, 74, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017. During the 1970s she was a Brownie Troop Leader in Stuart Heights. She resided in the Middle Valley and Highway 58 areas for the past 50 years. Phyllis worked around 20 years for TVA and served as the president of Printers Union Local 119 for several years during the 1980s. Phyllis, along with her late husband Jimmy, formed Phyllis Lankford Realtors, and later they formed The Lankford Group with Jimmy's sister, Charlotte Burton Matthews. Phyllis was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lankford and parents Linus and Julia Suttles Clark.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Dale) Haverkampf of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Julia Lankford of Chattanooga; brother, Steven Larkin Clark of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Beulah (Don) Fullbright of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters in law, Charlotte (Bobby) Matthews, Jeanette Lankford, Peggy Lankford and Faye Lankford; niece, Lori (John) Perkins; nephew, Brent (Kristy) Clark; grandchildren, Christofer (Candice) Butterfield, Colby (Camellia) Butterfield, Jessica (Logan) Land and Annie Harvey; great grandchildren, Quinn Butterfield and Garrett Land; several other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 5-8 pm and on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 11:00 am until the hour of service at 1:00 pm at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Bell and Roger DeHart officiating with a committal service to follow at National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Jimmy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lupton Drive Baptist Church, 859 Lupton Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37415.
