Reni
Curtis
Jan 31, 1957 — Feb 14, 2023
Reni Curtis, 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Reni was a graduate of Ooltewah High School in 1975 and was a member of the 1975 Ooltewah Girls State Champion Basketball team. She was an avid sports fan, always rooting for The Big Orange in every single sport. When her boys were young, she took great pride in coaching them and cheering for them on the side lines. As her children aged, she continued to be a dedicated and supporting parent, rarely missing a game and was always their biggest cheerleader. When the grandkids arrived on the scene, that love and support continued. She came to every event she could regardless if it was a team practice, game or ceremony. Reni loved her family incredibly well, always calling family members and friends on their birthdays and singing, "Happy Birthday to You" every single year without fail. She loved to cook and was the owner of Reni's Diner in Harrison, TN for several years. Reni loved to prepare food and host gatherings in her home whenever possible. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Reni always greeted everyone with a hug and a kiss and ended every call with, "I love you bunches." She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pat Rush; brother, Mike Rush; aunt, Betty Rush Robinson; grandparents, Jack Sr. and Grace Rush, Richard Yarbrough and Madge Dillard.
Reni was survived by her husband, Doug Curtis, Sr.; father, Don Rush, Sr. (Sherlene); sons, Doug Curtis Jr. (Jennifer) and Daniel Curtis (Brandi); brother, Donnie Rush (Brenda); sister, Rhonda Clark (Charles); grandchildren, Ashlyn, Micah, Jack, Walker and Anna, as well as sister-in-law, Beverly Rush.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Ronnie Dotson and Pastor Andy Bell officiating.
Please share your memories and express condolences to the family on their guestbook.
