Richard Heck, 69, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021.  He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Harrison.  Richard was a 1970 graduate of Brainerd High School and obtained his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from UTC.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Vietnam era.  Richard was in local law enforcement for 23 years and was also the owner of Crossroads barber shop.  He was an avid UTC Mocs and TN Vols fan.  His wife, Ann, daughter, Kristin, "son", Derek, and his grandchildren were the light of his life, and he will be deeply missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maxine Heck, and sister, Bonnie.

Richard is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ann; daughter, Kristin (Derek) Heck Coverly; grandchildren, Kerrigan, Gracyn, Keaton, and Anniston; brothers, Bill Heck and Dennis (Judy) Heck; several nieces and nephews, and also his fur babies, Gibbs and Ziva.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 1 – 8 p.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church, 9525 Birchwood Pike, Harrison, TN 37341.  A visitation will also be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10 a.m. – noon, also at the church.  A chapel service will follow at noon with Pastor Ronnie Dotson officiating.

There will be a short committal service at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery, where Richard will be laid to rest with military honors.
