In the still of the early morning on September 25, 2024 at 12:38 am, at the age of 81, Robert W. Brooks Sr. left his suffering behind to join his Lord and Savior in Heaven.  He was a graduate of Tyner High School and enjoyed his John Deere tractor during the spring and summer and working in his garden.  He always looked forward to watching Tennessee football.  Robert was a very active member of Joyful Sound Church of God.  He always enjoyed cooking food at the church and feeding those in need.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Brooks.

He also left behind his loving wife, Lynda Brooks; two loving sons, Robert Brooks Jr. (Willa), and Steve Brooks (Krissy); daughter, Holly Swann (Glenn); his grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas, Ryan, Macy Brooks, and Lauren and Tre Swann; Lynda's children, Charles Dodd, Mary Mullins, Penny Satterfield, and Karen Heard, and also Lynda's grandchildren and great-grandchildren (the only Paw Paw they've ever known), as well as his sister, Pat McDade, and his brother, James Brooks.

Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at noon in the chapel with Pastor James Barker and Pastor Mike Davis officiating.

Robert will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens East.
