Robert Keith "Goofy" Akins, 65, of Harrison, TN went home to be with the LORD on Friday, February 20, 2026 with family at his side.  He was the son of late Raymond and Margaret Akins.  Keith was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  He was also a member of Local Union 74.  He enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, wood-working, and most of all cooking.  Robert enjoyed spending his evenings with his wife, and two dogs, sweet Sunshine and Little Reece.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Harris and Annie Jo Neely, and brothers, Glenn, Ronnie, Curtis, Nickie, and Eddie Akins.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol Akins; sister, Becky Tallent; brothers, Ray (Rhonda), Clark (Rheda), Wayne Akins, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home.  There will be a chapel service held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Cagney Bradley officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Jason, Adam, Jeremy Akins, Nick Neely, Darrell Tallent, and Mike Akins.

Robert will be laid to rest in New McDonald Eastview Cemetery.
