Robert "Bob" Swofford, 83, passed away on December 24, 2025.

He was born in Atlanta, GA and had family roots in Lexington and Athens, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue and Curt Swofford, and his son, Dean Swofford.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Swofford; son, Curt Swofford (Eve); sister, Susan Gearhart; stepsons, Chris Richardson (Michelle) and Todd Richardson (Crystal); and several grandchildren.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Enterprise. Following his military service, he worked as a grocery store manager before retiring from Dillard Smith Construction Company.

During retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and love of laughter. He was a man of faith and believed Jesus Christ was his way of salvation.

He will be buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
