Scott Allen Welch, 69, proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October  31, 2020.  Scott was known for his quick wit, stubborn ways, and steadfast loyalty.  He was a man to whom a handshake still meant more than any contract, and whose word was his bond.  Scott's two favorite hobbies were shooting in IDPA matches and spending time with his niece, Annabelle.  He was a staunch supporter of Blood Assurance for over 30 years, most recently reaching 10 gallons of blood donated.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Wesley Welch; brother, James C. Welch, Jr. and sisters, Doris Gates, Gail Herron, and Johnnie Herron.

He is survived by his brother, William L. (Diane) Welch; nephews, Jeremy (Stacie) Welch, James (Myra) Welch, III, Christian (Holly) Welch, and Jack Herron; niece, Sandra Fraley; great nieces, Annabelle Welch, Annie Welch, and Harper Welch; great nephews, Aven Welch and Zachary Gates, and great-great niece, Kimberly Garcia.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A visitation will also be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 11 a.m. – noon.  A funeral service will follow at noon in the chapel.

Scott will be laid to rest in New McDonald Cemetery with military honors.
