Sharon Hood, 72, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.  She loved hummingbirds, camping and the outdoors, and was an avid reader of romance and mystery novels.  Sharon was employed with Synthetic Industries, retiring after over 25 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be deeply missed by them.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Hood, Sr.; her parents, Hubert and Flossie Ford; her son, Carlos Hood, Jr., and her grandchildren, Kristen Hood and Waylon Archey.

She is survived by her son, Joey Hood (Rebecca); daughters, Angela Moore (Greg), Tammy Babb, and Beth Barnett (Daniel); brothers, James "Bud" Ford, and Charles Ford; sisters, Evelyn "Dove" Johnson, Phyllis Stokes, Gail Shadwick, Janetta "Cissy" Long (Rodney), Mary Howard, and Deborah "Debbie" Tanner; grandchildren, Jake, Cody, Kayla, Bailey, Vincent, Kyrie, Braylin, McKenzie, and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Nolan, Kingston, and Oaklyn, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58 from 3 – 7 p.m.  A visitation will also be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Steve Granger officiating.
