Shirley Anne Wiseman-Thede, 90, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was born on April 25th, 1936, to Florence Cambron Wiseman and Delta Irving Wiseman. She grew up in a small farming community in southeast Missouri. Her father passed away when she was young. Several years later her mother remarried William Kirk. The family left Missouri when Shirley was 17 and moved to Chicago. There she met the love of her life, Richard ("Dick") Thede. Together they started Thede Marine in Downers Grove, Illinois. In the late 70s, they moved to Chattanooga and revived the Ventnor Boat Works company.

Shirley was an active partner with her husband in their businesses and was their business manager. She loved cooking, entertaining, and boating. She was a big fan of country music, especially Willie Nelson. She was loving and caring to many neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Wiseman, her stepfather, William Kirk, and brothers, Jerry Wiseman and Delta Irving “Irv” Wiseman.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her surviving sister; Louise, as well as nephews, nieces, and many other family members and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery, where she and her husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” Thede will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Chattanooga Area Veterans Council (https://www.chattareaveterans.com/donate) or Hospice of Chattanooga.
