Thelma "Jean" Whitaker

Jean Whitaker, age 69 passed away Friday, September 2, 2016. She was a native of Dayton, TN. but had lived in Chattanooga most of her life. Jean was a licensed practical nurse and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Frances Pelfrey Mooneyhan and was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt "Lamar" Whittaker; one son, Jonathan Eric Whitaker; brother Charles Robert Mooneyhan.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Whitaker of Hixson, two brothers, Donald and David Mooneyhan, both of Brayton; sisters, Betty Howard and Linda Snodgrass of Beach Grove, Tn., Kathy Harris and Sharon Gooden of Brayton, and Deborah Kellar Of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Shayna Whitaker of East Brainerd, Erin Casey and Jonathan Kyle Whitaker of Apison, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Minister J.T.
Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
