Thomas Murrel Daugherty, 83, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022.  He was retired after serving his life as a produce manager, starting at Ralph's Supermarket in California, and then Pruitt's and Winn Dixie in the Chattanooga area.  Thomas was the owner of Harvest Fresh Produce in Hixson.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time with his family.  He also loved entering car shows, winning many trophies.  Thomas was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother.  Two of his favorite sayings were, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." and, "First mistake I ever made."  He will always be remembered for loving others selflessly and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Daugherty; mother, Edna Lee Welch; brother, Jimmy Daugherty, and sister, Barbara Tate.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Vickie LaMantia; grandson, Brandon Thompson (Kristi Seals); great-grandson, Samuel Thompson; nephews, Darrell (Rhonda) Tate, Gary (Carol) Tate, as well as several others, as well as long-time friend and pastor, Wayne Pritchett.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

Thomas will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and care of Thomas, so he could remain at home with his loved ones.
