Thomas Earl Mumford, 70, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.  Tom embodied the qualities of a devoted husband, father, friend, and mentor.  His life's purpose was to serve God and his community.  With a 27-year tenure at Akron Foundry as a maintenance man, Tom also pursued his passion for working on cars. This hobby allowed him to share his faith and spread God's love.  Family was paramount to him, and he reveled in the time spent with his grandchildren, who deeply feel his absence.  Many others looked up to him as a father figure and role model, a testament to his enduring legacy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Sampson Mumford, and mother, Lunerva Marie Mumford.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sally Mumford; son, Thomas S. Mumford; daughters, Kelly Wade Mumford, Tonya Webb (Fred) and Wanda Lieving (Jeron); brother, Frank Mumford (Leda); sisters, Kathy Fox (Dennis) and Kimberly Chastman; grandchildren, Tyler Webb (Melea), Caitlyn Webb, Ethan Webb, Payton Lieving and John John Lieving, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Last but not least, the family would like to especially thank Tom's hospice nurse, Pam Fox.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home.  A chapel service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Faron Cole officiating.

Tom will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery.
