Thomas “Tom” Albert Feathers, 78, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was a veteran of the Air Force and was stationed at Turner Air Force Base in Albany, GA, Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico and Whiteman Air Force Base south of Knob Noster, Missouri.

He had a BS degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University and a degree in criminal justice from Cleveland State. Tom retired from TVA where he worked in Public Safety, and from the Chattanooga Police Department in the TeleServe Unit. He loved his family, fishing and his dogs. You could always find him at Harrison Bay State Park fishing.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and Julie’s Hospice House, especially Michael, for such good and loving care. Also, to Oncology at Common Spirit for their wonderful care.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Ruth Morgan Feathers; son, Scott Feathers (Leigh) of Carthage, NY; daughter, Sacha McGowan (Michael) of Red Bank, and grandchildren, Robbie Feathers of Carthage, NY, Chloe Feathers of Rochester, NY and Michael McGowan of Cleveland, TN.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel.

Tom will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
