Timothy "Tim" Florence, 67, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.  Tim was a 44-year resident of the Chattanooga area, coming from Spring City, TN.  He was a member of New City Fellowship on E. 3rd St. in Chattanooga.  Tim was employed in the 1980's as a probation officer, eventually retiring in 2009 as a Southeast Regional Manager for the Department of Children's Services.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Bentley; parents, Thomas and Shermine Smith Florence; sister, Beverly Florence Cox and nephew, Ethan Florence.

Tim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Darlene Florence; son, Andrew Florence (Dora); daughter, Veronica Florence; brothers, Michael Florence (Mary), William Florence (Diane) and Matthew Florence; sister, Rebecca Osaigbovo (Uwaifo); four grandchildren; sixteen nieces and nephews, and son-in-law, Corry Bentley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at New City Fellowship, located at 2424 E. 3rd St.  in Chattanooga from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating.

Tim will be laid to rest in Spoliwa Bible Camp Cemetery in Jeffersonville, GA on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 2 p.m.
