Obituary

Trudy L. Buckner, 64, passed away on January 17, 2024.  She was born on August 21, 1959 to James and Jewell Buckner.  She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, the hometown she dearly loved.

Trudy had a diverse employment history, working as an accountant and a server/bartender throughout her life. She also enjoyed cleaning homes. Trudy had a strong work ethic and brought her warm personality to every job she took on. She was known for her dedication and commitment to her work, leaving a lasting impression on those she encountered.  Apart from her professional life, Trudy had a deep love for her family and friends. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, always seeking opportunities to create lasting memories.

Trudy had a particular fondness for the beach and enjoyed taking trips with her family and friends to soak up the sun and embrace the beauty of nature.  She had a special place in her heart for the holiday season, especially Christmas, and she loved the joy and warmth that filled the air during this time of year.

Her adoration for her grandchildren was unmatched, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also had a deep love for her animals.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jewell Buckner; brother-in-law, Kevin Sparks, as well as Charles Lee Nayadley, Christopher J. Yerbey, Richard Lee Fulghum and beloved friend, Cindy Bearden.

Trudy is survived by her son, Aaron Nayadley (Amy), and her daughter, Brittany Buckner Fulghum.  She also leaves behind her sisters, Angie Robinson, Pam Chamlee (Tim), Stacy Sparks, and Leslie McKinney (Tim). Trudy's legacy extends to her beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, and Haylee, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

In addition to her immediate family, Trudy leaves behind a community of friends and acquaintances who will forever remember her kind and vibrant spirit. Trudy's impact was deeply felt beyond her personal circle.

Trudy had a zest for life and possessed a unique ability to bring laughter and joy to any gathering. Her fun-loving nature and outgoing personality made her a cherished friend and confidante to many. Trudy's warm and welcoming presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.
