Vera M. Pendergrass, 91, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018. She lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area. Vera was of the Church of God faith. Ms. Pendergrass loved to travel and spend time with her family and she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Sunnyside 359.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. and Lizzy Knight Prentice; her husband, A. Pendergrass; three brothers, Bob and J.L. Prentice and Frank Childs.

She is survived by her sons; Jimmy (Janice) Pendergrass, Eddie Pendergrass and Art (Kim) Pendergrass; daughters, Dianne (Michael) O'Rear, Brenda (Jimmy) Adams and Kay (Joe) Frey; brother, Raymond Childs; sister, Catherine Myers; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 10:30 until noon in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at noon Wednesday in the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. Ms. Pendergrass will be laid to rest next to her husband in McInturff Cemetery.
