Verna DeSha White, 103, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, at a local healthcare facility.
She was a charter member of Harmony Baptist Church. She dearly loved her church and family. She was also lovingly referred to by many as "Aunt Verna" or "Mamaw".
She was born January 30, 1913 and preceded in death by her parents Thomas DeSha and Ida Barger DeSha; her husband of 63 years Charlie White; brothers Elmer Steele and Ernest DeSha, and sister Mary Chambers.
She is survived by her sons Coleman (Tylene) White of Ooltewah; Tom (Sheila) White of Ringgold; four grandchildren Bryan (Angie) White, Sheri (Randy) Downs, Michelle (Thomas) Wagoner and Tiffany (Michael) Langston; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Bertie Ruth Ramsey and Della Faye Wooten; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23rd at the Hwy 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. or you may visit the online guestbook @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with Pastor, Joey Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens,Highway 153
