Virginia Jo Williams, 87, passed away on August 30, 2020.  She was a substitute teacher at Trinity Christian School and Central High School for many years.  Virginia loved flowers and gardening and was the president of the community garden club.  She had a passion for boating and camping with her late husband, Wendel, and was a loving housewife and mother.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wendel K. Williams; mother, Nellie Frazier Erby; father, Frank Erby; stepfather, Joe Erby; brother, Paul Erby, all of Chattanooga, and brother, Charles Erby of South Carolina and sister, Mary Ruth Wilkins of Soddy Daisy.

She is survived by her children, Gary Williams of Dunlap, Lee (Joyce) Williams, Donna K. Robertson, Douglas M. Williams, Rhonda S. Williams, all of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, David Erby of East Brainerd, TN, Jimmy Erby of Chickamauga, GA; sister, Betty Hart of Soddy Daisy, TN; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 9:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will follow at 12:45 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Mike Manning officiating.

Mrs. Williams will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
