Wendell E. Cantrell, 60, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025.  Wendell was born and raised in Harrison, TN and was of the Baptist faith.  He was employed as an excavator with Ames Excavating.  Wendell enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors.  He could often be found at Harrison Bay State Park.  Wendell also loved WWE Wrestling.  He will be deeply missed.

Wendell was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, James and Beulah Lively and his cousin, Jimmy Long.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Geneva Cantrell; sons, Caleb Cantrell and Cody Gilbert (Krystal); brothers, Dennis Cantrell, Kenneth Cantrell (Bev), Paul Cantrell (Stephanie) and James Cantrell (Amy Sweet); sister, Marie Garrett; cousin, Charlie Cantrell, as well as three grandchildren.

The family would like to especially thank Wendell's caregivers, Lisa Barnard, Louise Morgan, Hayden Morgan and all the visitors who came to the hospital.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home.  A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor David Ferguson officiating.

Wendell will be laid to rest in Maddux Cemetery in Harrison.
