William A. (Bill) Russell of Harrison passed away July 13th after a brief illness. He was a devoted Christian and member of Bayside Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of Emanuel Sunday School Class.
He was born in Henderson, KY to the late William, Sr and Mary Louise Butler Russell. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy O'Neil and twin great grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Hicks.
Bill was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a V.P. of American Water Works in Summitt , NJ before transferring to Chattanooga where he worked for TN American Water Company. He retired from the Department of Transportation after many years of service and later worked for Hertz Car Rental Company.
He was very talented in many ways, always willing to help anyone he could. He was a member of Harrison Lodge #114, also a pilot, 33 Degree Mason and a member of the Flying Fez Unit of Alhambra Shrine Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis Russell, son, Mark (Ruby) Russell, daughters: Ellen (Tom) Farmakis, Laura (John) Glazener, Karen (Sam) Hicks, Sherry Leamon and son-in-law Frank O'Neil, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren,

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Eric Stitts and Pastor Grady Cooper, at Bayside Baptist Church, Saturday July 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Mr. Russell will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral at the Church.
Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hwy 153.
Visitation will be Friday July 15, 2016 from 2:-4:00 pm and 6:-8:00 pm Turner Funeral Home, 3913 Webb Road @ Hwy 58, 423- 622-3171
