William "Bill" Leon Spurgeon, 77, passed away on November 24, 2021 in Birmingham, AL.  Bill was born in Knoxville to Harvey and Elnora Spurgeon.  He was a veteran, having served in the Navy during the Vietnam era.  Four of those years were spent on the U.S.S. Arkansas.  After leaving the Navy, Bill worked at the Dept. of Defense as a logistics engineer.  He loved collecting antique cars.  Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Elnora; first wife, Marcella; second wife, Vicki; son, Billy, and a brother.

He is survived by sons, DeWayne (Darla) Spurgeon; Richard (Stacy) Spurgeon; grandchildren, Alan, Mathew (Jessica), Noah (Cami), and Summer; several great-grandchildren, and special friend, Jeri Hodo.

There will be a private family service held at a later date.
