Brian Giles

Funeral Director, General Manager

Brian has been with Turner Funeral Home since 2005, after retiring from the United States Navy. He is a licensed funeral director and a member of the Tennessee and National Funeral Directors' Associations. He and his wife Tina are members of Stuart Heights Baptist Church and have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Rachel Harrison

Funeral Director, Embalmer, Manager

Rachel began her funeral service apprenticeship as an intern with Turner Funeral Home in 2017, while enrolled in John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville. Her academic and clinical studies included classes in anatomy and physiology, chemistry, microbiology, embalming, accounting, law and ethics, and bereavement counseling.

She graduated mortuary college in 2019. After graduation, she passed the Funeral Service National Board Exam and the Tennessee State Law Exam. She is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Director's Association.

Rachel has always felt called to help others, and this profession gives her the chance to do so in a deeply personal and rewarding way. It is a great privilege to work with families in their time of need.

Carolyn Moore

Family Services*

Carolyn is a valuable asset to our family services staff. She was born and raised in the Harrison community and her family is listed as early pioneers in the Hamilton County area. Carolyn is a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and serves as our media, preneed counselor, and dvd consultant. She resides in the Highway 58 area.

Mike is a great asset to our staff. He has been an ordained minister for over 30 years and was active in local radio ministry. He is currently one of Turner Funeral Home's on-call ministers. He has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Charles Griffin

Family Services, Minister*

Charles serves as a funeral assistant and one of Turner Funeral Home's on call ministers. He is a graduate of Andrews University in Michigan, having received his MA, MDiv, and Doctor of Ministry degrees. Charles served as an ordained minister in North America, South America, and Asia Pacific. He also served in ministry in various locations around the globe and he is fluent in English, Spanish, as well as Portuguese. He and his wife, Evelyn, are members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ooltewah, TN. They have four children and fourteen grandchildren.

Buster is a member of Silverdale Baptist, where he serves as an usher. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He and his wife, Carolyn, owned and operated Carolyn's Florist for over 35 years. They have 2 children.

General Services Staff

Shea follows in his grandfather’s footsteps by learning the family business inch by inch. He currently assists with maintaining the grounds and physical plant of the funeral home. As the fourth generation of the Turner family to serve our community, he exhibits kindness and compassion with a calm demeanor. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, exploring the outdoors, and caring for animals.

Alice Standifer

Funeral Assistant

Alice has been married to her husband, Richard, for 53 years, and they make their home in Harrison, TN. They have a daughter, Valerie, and son-in-law Mark, who made them grandparents to their granddaughter, Amanda (and husband, Noah). Alice has served at Turner Funeral Home for over a year as a funeral assistant. She is a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and works at Snow Hill Elementary School as a Pre-K Assistant. In her spare time, she loves to sew and sit on her porch watching the hummingbirds.

Funeral Assistant

Norma has been married to her husband, Sammy, for over 48 years. She retired from McKee Foods after 37 years, and he retired from Coca-Cola, allowing them to enjoy the life they built together. They are especially proud of their family that includes twin daughters Amber Thurman and her husband Cody, and Ashley Day and her husband Ronnie. Their son Bryan is married to his wife Starla. Her four grandchildren, Neavah, Caiden, Carter, and Christopher, are the lights of her life. Norma loves to socialize, which makes her perfectly suited for her responsibilities as a Funeral Assistant at Turner Funeral Home. She is a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and enjoys reading during quiet times.

Bobby Lewis

Funeral Director Apprentice, Pre-need Agent

Bobby was born and raised in the Chattanooga area and has been in the funeral industry for well over 25 years. He returns to Turner Funeral Home after gaining additional experience as a minister, pre-need insurance agent, and funeral assistant. He is currently studying to achieve his license as a funeral director. Bobby serves the community in the capacity of Chaplain for the Highway 58 and Chattanooga City Fire Departments. He is a member of the Tennessee Federation of Fire Chaplains. He never meets a stranger and is always willing to help someone. He and his wife, Christy, reside in the Birchwood area.
